How to take care of your hair while traveling

While traveling, you want to be sure that your hair is kept as long and beautiful as has always been. Also, you do not want to spend a lot of your time during your trip taking care of your hair when you could have spent that time having fun and enjoying your vacation.

In this post, I’ll share general guidelines to taking care of your hair while traveling as well as what you should bring with you on your journey to take care of your hair while traveling.

General hair tips for traveling

  • Try to protect your hair from the sun

When you’re traveling it’s hard to avoid the sun, especially when you’re traveling to hotter places. Put on a cap or head scarf to protect your hair from the sun to prevent overheating. It’s also a good trick to apply a small amount of sunscreen/block to your scalp!

  • Brush your hair as often as possible

Don’t leave your hair without brushing for a long time. Essentially, you should brush your hair at least once a week or more. This is key in ensuring that your hair stays smooth and untangled. Brush when your hair is dry not wet.

  • Be mindful of the pool you swim in

When traveling, there is every tendency for you jump in a pool and cool down. If swimming is your thing, you need to be very careful about the pool you swim in as some chemicals in some pools can damage your hair. It’s a good idea when you hop out of the pool to take a quick shower to rinse out the chlorine or any other chemicals the pool uses.

  • Ensure you find the best hairdressers to do your hair

This one really applies if you’re traveling for longer periods of times. Sometimes you don’t have the time to get a haircut from your favorite salon or barber and have to make do with barbers and stylists in other countries.

If you need to get your hair done, try using google to find the best rated barbers/stylists. There’s hopefully wi-fi in places where you are staying so search away!

Another way could be getting a personal recommendation from a local or friend who’s traveled to your destination before.

What to take along with you when traveling

There are some accessories you should carry with you when traveling so that you’ll have no problems taking care of your hair no matter your location. For electronic devices (like your travel dryer), ensure you check the voltage requirements and see if your travel location has the same voltage supply as your device.

Some of the materials to take along with you when traveling is

  • Brush and comb: A good travel-size wet brush or comb will do.
  • Hair covering and protection: You can take hats, hair scarfs or any other piece of protection to cover your hair with.
  • Travel hair dryer: Check the voltage requirement to see that it matches that of your travel location or buy there to be safe.
  • Dry shampoo
  • Headbands
  • Easy to wash hairstyling products

You deserve to have the best experience during your vacation so don’t waste it worrying about your hair when you can have fun. Use the tips listed above and add the materials here to your traveling checklist for comfort and ease when traveling.

Also keep in mind that there are other tips which might be unique to only you. If you have any tips that aren’t listed above, feel free to tell us in the comments down below.

Have a fun trip!

How to make thin hair look Fuller

There are many reasons for thin hair but most of the time it’s simply what you are born with. However, whatever the reason is, it always feels frustrating to have thin hair and the small look that it gives. Fortunately, there are remedies and tips that will help you make your thin hair look much fuller, giving you that big, bold and sexy look. In this post, we’ll deal with some of these tricks you can use for a better appearance all round.

Tricks to make your thin hair appear fuller

Here are some of the tricks you can use to get a much fuller hair

Increase your vitamin intake

Sometimes, insufficient nutrients might be the underlying cause of thinning hair. You should try and take supplements rich in fish oil and biotin as it may be your savior from hair breakage and damage caused by the natural elements. get right down to the root of the matter and increase your intake of nutrients for a better and fuller hair.

Do a scalp treatment consistently

Research has shown that your hair is more likely to fall out in early fall after the scalp has held the hair up during the summer as a protection from the ultraviolet rays of the sun. Regardless of the time of the year however, it is necessary that you do a scalp treatment regularly to cleanse and exfoliate your scalp. Get natural extracts of sage, rosemary and eucalyptus for this specific task.

Make use of shampoos that are meant to thicken the hair

There are shampoos that are created specially for the purpose of thickening your hair by plumping its roots. These shampoos have the word “thickening” on it.

Pay attention to the description of the shampoos because most will tell you what it’s for – moisture rich, or thickening etc. Also, don’t wash your hair everyday as washing your hair can remove natural oils that can make your hair healthy and full.

Use some  mousse

Volumizers are good products to ensure thicker hair. Use a volumizing mousse overnight to wet hair to give you a texturized and much fuller hair when you rise in the morning.

Use coconut oil

Coconut oil is essential in reducing protein loss in the hair and facilitating hair growth. Coconut oil contains fatty oils and they can easily penetrate your hair shaft. Ensure you add some coconut oil to your conditioner to fight against thinning hair.

Use the right essential products

Use the right shampoos and conditioners that are specifically designed to thicken your hair or for your hair type. If you buy a shampoo that is specifically for a hair type you don’t have, then it’s probably a good idea to stop using that.  A method that helps is using dry shampoo every often to degrease and give a bit of life back into your hair in between those non-hair wash days.

Applying all these tips mentioned here, as well as the right nutrition to back it up, and you’ll start to see results. The key is consistency and finding out what is working and what is not.

Also, remember that the right haircut can also be a game changer for how your hair looks. So, talk to your stylist and see what you can come up with.

Stop wasting your time and focus on your goals

Your way up to your goals will come with its sets of difficulties, challenges and distractions. These distractions might linger for longer period affecting your success. It is, thus, advisable to keep them in check before they get in your way of success.

It’s your ability to stay focused that serves as a critical factor in deciding your success or failure. Setting your goals and achieving them is imperative and focus is the key to reach there.

Here are 5 essential tips that can come in handy when it comes to managing distraction, eliminating opportunities for procrastination, and drawing healthy boundaries.

Before you are off to bed, make up your mind about all the things you need to get done by the end of next day. It could range from deciding on your costume, lunch, or picking up the dry cleaning on your way home.

Make a verdict that you won’t waste your time scrolling down social media switching from one platform to another, before you get all the items ticked off in that to-do list. Stick to your schedule and do your best to check off the maximum number of tasks.

This way, you won’t forget anything important you were supposed to do. Getting into the habit of planning your day in advance will help you avoid getting sidetracked and wasting time and energy on things that are irrelevant.

The way to your success doesn’t necessarily requires the hard work. Sometimes, it’s getting your work done in a smart manner rather than working hard.

Break down your goal into several small goals and make your way up to the ultimate goal by conquering those small goals first. Do not keep putting off most difficult duties for later. Instead take command and begin with the tasks that are troubling and breaking them apart.

Try getting these vital tasks done in the morning itself as our mind is sharpest and fresh in the morning. Once these important tasks are over, we can relax without having to worry about them anymore. It saves you a lot of energy, mental strain and time.

Self assessment is the key to exactly catching the glitches that are causing you to be distracted. These distractions are not real emergencies and don’t need your response, in most cases.

Figure out performing which activities make you slack off. Once you tackle down the issues, you can easily come up with solutions. Set a time period for these activities.

Until then, give your full concentration to utmost important tasks. You can reward yourself after completion of any important tasks. This way, you are motivated to reach your rewards.

If you find yourself extremely unmotivated and bored in the middle of your responsibilities, take a quick break. Take a brisk break to restore your energy. That way you’ll find it easy to aim your focus back.

Do anything that works best for you. It could be listening to your favorite song, dancing, taking a walk, talking to your friends or anything else that reenergizes you. Keep a check on your health from time to time, including the food and water intakes. Arrange a routine with these affairs as your health and well-being comes first.

Create a vision board, written note, an imaginative movie, or some system that serves as a continuous reminder of what you are working towards. This alone is enough to serve as a motivator and encouragement to keep walking in the right direction.

Suppose that your goal is to shed those extra pounds and fit into your favorite dress pair of jeans. Have a clear vision of what you would look and feel like the moment you are actually wearing those jeans. Set some time to visualize this goal on a daily basis. The more details you can put in, the better it prompts you.

Imagine if just the thought of achieving that goal can make you feel this happy, how ecstatic it can potentially make you the day you actually meet that goal. Trust us, this journey will be totally worth it.
