How to Commit to an Awesome Hairstyle
A big question we see get asked: How do you successfully grow out your hair?
It is not easy and for most, we end up trimming it down because it gets too annoying or we can’t get over the “awkward” phase of growing out our hair. So how do others like Joe get over it? Remember that Joe had to go through that awkward phase himself. He’s mentioned that he has in the past had long hair, but now he’s hoping to achieve that again, but he currently has short hair.
Joe’s got some great tips to commit to a hairstyle and how to stay motivated throughout the process.
Plan it out
Just like all things in life, if you don’t have a clear plan in mind of what you want in terms of hairstyle then it’s going to be hard to visualize yourself growing your hair out.
What this will do is help you understand the hairstyle you want and plan out the goal towards achieving that style. It will give you insight on the determination that will be needed to get through it.
The Awkward Stage
Joe’s currently going through with this stage believe it or not. But He’s also got another in depth video explaining the awkward stage.
There’s no tricks or mirrors here to get away from the awkward stage. The most important thing to understand is that everyone goes through this stage when growing out their hair. Instead of resorting to cutting it off, think of ways you can make it the best it can look during its awkward phase. Maybe this could be visiting the barber more often.
For example, Joe had transitioned to shorter hair in order to achieve the short messy quiff. And we all know that longer hair with a quiff just doesn’t work. So what Joe has done currently is shape his hair to create a side parted style. But Joe knows where he wants to go with his hairstyle and because of that goal in sight, he’s willing to push through the awkward phase.
Visit the barber more often
To really help with the awkward stage, you should be visiting your barber more often. It really makes a huge difference when you clean up the sides while leaving your hair on top longer. Unless you’re going for the luscious long hair all around. In that case, I would suggest staying away from the barber.
The barber will work their magic by cleaning it up making it less of an awkward stage and hopefully this pushes you continue growing out your hair towards your desired goal.
LET IT GROW
and most importantly… LET IT GROW!
Whenever you feel like giving up, remind yourself that you can do it. Change doesn’t happen over night; it’s all about being consistent and continuing to strive towards your goals.
Don’t fall into temptation and chop it all off.
