Hair Colors for Men – The Most Popular Colors in 2018
Can you name all the colors of the rainbow? Unfortunately some hair colors for men aren’t the most popular or suitable for that matter.
There are so many variants to color but we’ll look at the general more recent trendy colors, the ones that have been seen popular throughout celebrities and on social media.
I’ve seen this more popular lately with men who are looking to stray away from the blonde and brown hair colors. Honestly, if you can own it and be confident in yourself I would say go for it.
Of course, you have to think about the hairstyle you’re going for or currently have. Plus your face shape.
In my personal opinion the common trend I’ve seen people with hair color to have longer hair – about 5-6 inches.
Platinum is great because it basically stands out a lot more than blonde. Especially if you’re wearing darker colors it’ll create a nice pop to your style.
A good rule of thumb is to not go all out and color your whole head of your if you’ve never done it before. Get Highlights first. Just like Joe, he doesn’t want to change his hair color that drastically. Instead he opted for highlights.
Blonde’s have more fun right? Blonde hair took men by storm and ever since it’s been actually quite common to see men go for a blonde hair color lately.
Just look at Justin Bieber or Adam Levine. They’ve both got a face shape that’s a bit more oval and they both have longer hair.
Having blonde is still trendy and as we’ve seen, popular celebrities still go for that blonde look.
Shades of blue have been really popping lately – especially darker blues like navy.
Be careful when you go for blue to not get it too light. I personally think that light blue isn’t the greatest hair color for men, there’s a big contrast depending on your skin color so I would avoid it.
It’s a very beautiful vibrant color, I personally wouldn’t dye my hair pink because it wouldn’t suit my style and my skin tone.
I’ve seen a lot of people try a purple/pink color combination which can look great!
I mean more copper/ginger red than actual apple red. I really like the copper red look on guys because it has a nice vibrant brown look. It’s a very underrated color in my opinion and I think it’s growing
A Rainbow of Colors
I think you should probably avoid combining too many colors. Why? because colors mixing can change the end result completely. Stick to two colors maximum and listen to your hair colorist because they will know more than you.
Take care of your new color
Now that you’ve chosen your new color, remember to take care of it! Use specific shampoos to preserve the colors because regular shampoo will probably start stripping away the color.
Don’t wash your hair too often, try using dry shampoo here and there to help bring life back into your hair.
Also, don’t use extremely hot temperatures when showering as this might affect the color preservation.
Lastly, It’s also probably a good idea to use some leave in treatments for your new color too.
Enjoy your new hair color!
like all hair coloring, your roots will start to grow back and you might want to touch it up again. So enjoy it while it lasts because it can be quite expensive to color your hair
