New Year, New Hairstyle Tutorial
Welcome to 2018 everyone!
Joe brings in the new year with a tutorial on achieving a messy textured style quiff.
To start things off, Joe gets right into pre-styling. The main choice of course: Original Styling Meraki. Since Joe’s hair is on the shorter side he needs less Original for pre-styling. Keep in mind that with Joe’s usual length he would need the usual scoop amount. However it’s important to remember that the amount of product you use reflects the style you’re trying to achieve and the cut of your hair. The key here is start with a little and work your way up!
Since this is a simple quiff style, the next step is the blow dryer. The simple step here is blow dry the hair forward first and then Joe begins to create volume. He creates volume by scrunching up the hair and exaggerating the volume. Don’t be afraid create a big amount of volume because it is easier to tame and control volume once you have it than if you don’t. The last step is to blast your hair with cold air, this helps lock in the volume so it can last all day.
To finish it off Joe uses Hybrid Cream Clay to hold everything together and have long lasting volume and style.
But the most important thing other than the tutorial is…
Without the foundation of the haircut, styling the textured quiff would take more time and effort.
Here’s a great video showcasing the haircut Joe needed to set up the textured quiff.
